From onboarding training for new Team Members, to courses focused on quality, to specialized job training, the educational resources that David Weekley Homes invests is central to Our Purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives of our Team Members. Here is an overview of just a few of our many training opportunities:

Weekley 101

Weekley 101 provides all new hires with an introduction to the company and culture. New hires fly in from across the country to attend this class to learn all about the history of the company, expectations, benefits and more while also enjoying a few games and great meals together.

E-Learning Courses

New hires take several e-learning courses, which are web-based classes that provide a well-rounded education about the company, our beliefs and values, code and more as an overview to the company.

Training Programs

In order to bring out the best in our Team, David Weekley Homes offers extensive training programs and also employs full-time “Coaches” who are dedicated to classroom, field and e-training for Builders, Sales Consultants and various other leadership roles.

Leadership Classes

We provide new leaders with leadership training classes, which we call David Weekley University Core Leadership Curriculum, focusing on various aspects of professional development, including hiring, developing and retaining Team Members.

Mentoring Program

Our Mentoring program partners Team Members working in similar roles with a mentor, providing support, education and a resource to assist with the development of both seasoned and new Team Members.

Book Reviews

Team Members periodically participate in department book reviews that allow them to share ideas and learn more about improving the workplace. The topics are varied and these open discussions are led by a volunteer Team Member.


Our Lunch-and-learn classes are hosted by industry professionals and wellness groups that educate Team Members with healthy living habits, tips to reduce stress, improve nutrition and increase exercise.

Continuing Education

We believe the best investment we can make is in our Team. That’s why we invest money to make them experts in their fields. Team Members from all over the company are encouraged and assisted with pursuing career-related certifications and attending conferences and/or educational seminars related to their role in the company.

Continual Training

As a company, we are committed to Forever Improving and believe that continual training and coaching focused on new skills and technology are imperative for the development and growth of our Team Members.

As the Estimator, I tally up everything required for the construction of homes. Collaborating with my Team, I measure and count all materials from the flooring materials to wood finishing, and then plug that information into our system to ensure that everything is in place for the construction of our Customers’ dream homes.

I am responsible for overseeing our growth and land positions in the city while maintaining the culture, Customer Satisfaction goals and profitability. We get to work with managers on multiple tasks that empower our Team Members to build, sell and close homes that delight our Customers and enhance their communities.

I help Customers turn their dreams into reality! In addition to promoting our company and finding new Homebuyers to delight, I enjoy coming up with exciting sales presentations for prospective buyers and keeping Customers in the know about their loan status and design selections so there’ll be no surprises at closing!
