David Weekley Homes trains and develops our Team Members so they are able to learn, grow and achieve success in their positions. From onboarding training for new Team Members, to courses focused on quality, to specialized job training, the educational resources that David Weekley Homes invests is central to Our Purpose of Building Dreams, Enhancing Lives of our Team Members. Here is an overview of just a few of our many training opportunities:
Weekley 101 provides all new hires with an introduction to the company and culture. New hires fly in from across the country to attend this class to learn all about the history of the company, expectations, benefits and more while also enjoying a few games and great meals together.
New hires take several e-learning courses, which are web-based classes that provide a well-rounded education about the company, our beliefs and values, code and more as an overview to the company.
In order to bring out the best in our Team, David Weekley Homes offers extensive training programs and also employs full-time “Coaches” who are dedicated to classroom, field and e-training for Builders, Sales Consultants and various other leadership roles.
We provide new leaders with leadership training classes, which we call David Weekley University Core Leadership Curriculum, focusing on various aspects of professional development, including hiring, developing and retaining Team Members.
Our Mentoring program partners Team Members working in similar roles with a mentor, providing support, education and a resource to assist with the development of both seasoned and new Team Members.
Team Members periodically participate in department book reviews that allow them to share ideas and learn more about improving the workplace. The topics are varied and these open discussions are led by a volunteer Team Member.
Our Lunch-and-learn classes are hosted by industry professionals and wellness groups that educate Team Members with healthy living habits, tips to reduce stress, improve nutrition and increase exercise.
We believe the best investment we can make is in our Team. That’s why we invest money to make them experts in their fields. Team Members from all over the company are encouraged and assisted with pursuing career-related certifications and attending conferences and/or educational seminars related to their role in the company.
